The Watkins Community Museum, 1047 Mass., will hold two summer ragtime parties Sunday and Aug. 12, both at 2 p.m.
Local musicians Ed Judd and Al Brune will perform ragtime music, and refreshments will also be served.
“It’s very laid back, and it’s fun music,” museum program coordinator Abby Pierron said. “Ragtime music is just fun to listen to and dance along with.”
Pierron said the event should transport visitors back to 1888, when ragtime was popular and the museum functioned as the Watkins Bank and Mortgage Company.
Pierron said the museum hopes to build on the event’s success last year, when more than 65 people attended one party.
“It’s a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon,” she said.
The family-friendly event is open to the public.
