Free State Brewery has started to sell mixed 12-packs of its signature beers. Each pack comes with three bottles each of Ad Astra and Copperhead Pale ales plus two bottles each of Wheat State Golden Ale, Oatmeal Stout and the brewery’s current seasonal — right now, that’s Stormchaser IPA.

Free State Brewing Company just made things easier for the indecisive. Starting today at select Lawrence and Kansas City area liquor stores, you can buy a mixed 12-pack containing five of the Lawrence brewery’s offerings.

Each pack comes with three bottles each of Ad Astra and Copperhead Pale ales plus two bottles each of Wheat State Golden Ale, Oatmeal Stout and the brewery’s current seasonal — right now, that’s Stormchaser IPA.

Free State’s head brewer, Steve Bradt, said they aimed to include a “beer for every taste.” The mixed-pack doesn’t contain anything you can’t buy by the bottle elsewhere, he said, but especially if you’re headed to a party, there’s something to be said for the grab-and-go option.

“Sometimes it’s awfully convenient to just walk in and find a nicely assembled package of beers waiting for you,” Bradt said.

Bradt said the Free State mixed 12-packs are expected to be on store shelves statewide by early next week.
