The Tres Mexicanos menu describes this simply as “Special Mexican Soup.” It’s so special, in fact, that you can only get it on weekends, and not many (if any) other Mexican restaurants in town serve it.
Further description: The main ingredient of menudo is honeycomb tripe, or beef stomach, which requires cooking for hours to reach a tender consistency. Plentiful bites of the textured meat fill a thick, spicy, red broth served with lime wedges, onions, herbs and tortillas on the side.
Supposedly menudo, aka the Mexican breakfast of champions, is a great hangover cure. But whether that’s because the fattiness coats and calms the stomach, because it’s packed with vitamins, or because hot, steamy, filling food in a bowl is always comforting seemingly has yet to be scientifically proven.

Also on the menu: Chiles rellenos, fajitas, Dos Equis Fish Tacos and, for dessert, raspberry or dulce de leche chimichangas, flan and sopapillas. Another weekend-only special is pozole, chopped pork and hominy soup served with shredded cabbage, radish and lime wedges.
