Summer Youth Theatre auditions next week

Lawrence Art Center’s Summer Youth Theatre is holding auditions next Sunday, May 4 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. This year’s theme is British Invasion.

Productions for Junior Players (third through eighth grade) are Disney’s “Peter Pan Jr.” in June and “The Hobbit” in July. Senior Players (eighth through 12th grade) will perform Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” in June and Monty Python’s “Spamalot” in July.

Students should arrive with a prepared audition. Callbacks are on May 5 and 6. All students who audition receive roles.

Summer Youth Theater provides intensive training in all aspects of dramatic theater. For more than 35 years, student performers have sharpened their acting skills by working professional directors, musical directors, costume designers, stage designers, stage managers, choreographers, actors and dancers using Broadway musicals, classic dramas and original works.
