The Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission is offering their Annual Community Arts Grant Program to promote appreciation and awareness of the arts in the city and encourage collaboration among community artists. The deadline to submit applications is 4 p.m. March 24.
The city offers $7,000 in grants through the LCAC program, recognizing that the arts enrich the quality of life and that collaborations among art communities, as well as community organizations and businesses, is critical to the success of Lawrence as a “City of the Arts.”
Those who would like to apply for a grant must write a proposal that addresses goals for projects within the city limits. The grant application and relevant forms are available for download at www.lawrenceks.org/artgrants, or can be picked up from the Lawrence Public Library, Lawrence Arts Center, and City Hall during normal business hours.
LCAC will review proposals and make award recommendations to the Lawrence City Commission. Any questions can be directed to Assistant City Manager Diane Stoddard at 832-3413.
