Justice Matters event to feature nationally known religious scholar

Justice Matters, a consortium of local religious organizations working to address justice issues, will host an "evening to dance, sing, reflect and support justice" at 7 p.m. Thursday at Liberty Hall, 644 Massachusetts St.

The event, Jubilee Celebration, will feature special guest Walter Brueggemann. An ordained minister in the United Church of Christ, Brueggemann is the author of more than 100 books and several scholarly articles, including "Message of the Psalms" and "The Prophetic Imagination."

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with refreshments and light snacks, while the event itself will begin at 7 p.m. There will also be a cash bar available. All attendees are "invited to financially support" Justice Matters.
