The oldest continuous farmers’ market in Kansas is marking its 40th year, and market go-ers can expect plenty of celebration. The farmers’ market is not just a place to pick up a few veggies; you can also discover new vendors, enjoy chef demonstrations, and, of course, pick up produce straight off the farm. Long-time vendor Karen Pendleton says, “It’s a community. It’s a place to meet friends and be social.”
Pendleton also emphasized that despite the construction immediately surrounding the market this year, there’s still plenty of close parking via adjacent parking lots, at the Hobbs-Taylor lofts, and in the city parking garage, so don’t let a few construction signs deter you from the best fresh produce in town.
