Photo detail

Lawrence artist Stan Herd has a proposal for a 26-foot tall steel sculpture of an American bison that would span the 10th Avenue bridge over I-70 on the east side of downtown. Herd's artistic rendition of the central piece of the artwork is visible at left. The steel bison is based on his series of buffalo paintings like "Red Buffalo #7" that is on exhibit at Gary's Framewoods in Topeka.
