"The Marsh." I traveled to Quivira National Wildlife refuge this fall to photograph some of the migrating waterfowl. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I arrived an hour after sunrise, and most of the water fowl had left the marsh to feed. Frustrated by my lack of good timing, I began exploring the texture of the grassland contrasted against an ominous sky.

"Roman Baths," taken in Bath, England. This is a place of such peacefulness and beauty that just pulls you back into the time of the people that inhabited it.
-
“To The Point,” by Jim Kirsner, captures a bird’s-eye view down a spiral staircase in an early 20th-century European-inspired mansion built by a wealthy industrialist on Biscayne Bay, Fla.

Laura Dalrymple photographed this painted bronze sculpture by Seward Johnson called “Turn of the Century” last summer in Chicago. The sculpture is based on an 1880s painting by August Renoir titled “Dance at Bougival.” Dalrymple calls the photo “Let It Be a Dance.”

“Juggling Act,” by Lawrence Photo Alliance president Bill Bowerman, is a scanograph, made by assembling objects on a flat-bed scanner, scanning them into his computer and using that image to create a limited edition, archival digital print.

"Leadville Cabin." The scene is near the Twin Lakes Reservoir just outside of Leadville, Colo. The backdrop is the Sawatch mountain range. The photo was taken January 2004. I developed and printed this photo in my darkroom.

"Foggy Morning" was taken on a Friday morning last April. I was going to work and noticed that there was a dense fog. When I stopped to get coffee, I couldn't see the end of the block. After getting some coffee, I went to South Park, where this picture was taken. It was a very surreal experience being so close to buildings and a parking lot, yet not being able to see either.

This Polaroid emulsion lift is titled "3 Trees." The photograph was taken last winter near Lone Star Lake.
