Liz Gardner, a Kansas City, Mo., artist and 2003 Kansas University graduate, makes dolls inspired by 1980s children's toys called Popples, but her creations represent various stages of her own life. The creatures are part of a solo installation and mixed-media show called "Operation Popple People," which opened Saturday and remains on view through June 28 at Olive Gallery & Art Supply, 15 E. Eighth St.
