In the Kansas City area, the Hereford House has long been synonymous with the very best place to get steak. The Lawrence version opened in 2000, and though it's built in a strip mall, inside you can still find the same steaks that earned Hereford its reputation. The environment is spacious and centered around a large rock fireplace. Though 'fine dining' in both menu and price, the décor is casual a la American cowboy. In addition to steak, Hereford offers seafood, chicken, and a couple veggie entrees.
