If you're looking for fresh, "homemade" food with the freshest of local ingredients, then give Auntie Em's a try.
New to Lawrence in 2010, Auntie Em's features produce and ingredients from "the heart of Amish country." In addition to making sandwiches to eat in their restaurant, Auntie Em's also sells meat by the pound to take home.
The restaurant also serves cinnamon rolls and biscuits and gravy, though biscuits and gravy are only available on Saturdays.
Also, the store lists its hours as 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, but it's often open later.
