About this place
The New Linwood Cafe - not to be confused with the Linwood Cafe, which is actually the old Linwood Cafe - will be open as of August 1, 2005. Until then, you can still go to the old - that is to say previous - Linwood Cafe.
Linwood Cafe offers traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, and so on) specialty sandwiches, salads, pork steaks, chicken, roast beef, burgers, and theme nights in a now-bigger (MUCH bigger) space. Leanne's now offering extended hours and more theme nights (Wed: Italian, Thur: Mexican, Fri: fish, Sat: steak, Sun: family-style fried chicken). We can only hope that they retain the small town Kansas atmosphere that made the old place so darn much fun.
Linwood is about 12 miles northeast of Lawrence. To get there, take U.S. Highway 24-40 east to Kansas Highway 32. Continue east on K-32 for about eight miles. It'll be on your right, on the far edge of town.

monkeywrench (Tim vonHolten) says...
great hand-breaded tenderloins, huge breakfasts, great between-waitress bitchy banter, not a lot of staring toward outsiders, but please don't let this deter you from NOT going here. there are not enough seats for those who would be happier at jefferson's. if you eat anywhere on mass except for freestate, rudy's, or la parilla, don't go here.
