Upon entering McCoys, one can observe that the entire place has a refined, yet relaxed atmosphere.
My friend, a Westport resident, and myself, a new comer to the area, decided to give the establishment a fairly well rounded try.
Our server was very well versed in the menu (perhaps because she happened to be a member of the McCoy family). I noticed that all the staff was friendly and knew their "stuff."
The appetizers were diverse and very nicely prepared, served in a prompt manner so as not to overlap with our meal.
Speaking of which, we both had two different ends of the menu. She dined on the "finer side" and I was craving a burger. It was divine! Prepared just the way I wanted it, with the most complete cheese selection I have ever seen in any restaurant. I had muenster and swiss. Talk about huge and filling, it was well worth the price.
Dessert was delicious, but I must admit, by the time we were ready for dessert, I was beginning to get stuffed.
NOW ... what really impressed me was the cigar and single malt scotch menu. They had a drink menu with a very fine selection of beverages, but on top of that, a well rounded menu of cigars and scotches, a rare find for a place within the price range.
Speaking of which, the price is very reasonable. In dollar signs, you will pay about as much as you would at Applebees, not bad at all.
I'll be going back ... maybe I'll see you there!
