Tried Papa Kenos today and was very pleased. Pizza was wonderful, as always. Service was friendly and quick even though VERY busy! Cashier/order taker was patient and friendly. Even took extra time to answer my questions about bringing my dog there and about the outside patio in the back. All in all, a very pleasant experience. I will be going back soon and maybe taking my canine companion!

Good toppings, burnt crust every time and really bad service make for a very ho hum pizza experience that has the potential to be an amazing pizza experience. I love the variety of pizza types they have available, but the staff is quite poor. All that place needs is a good manager to come in and clean house and it could be the premier pizza place in the area, but it just seems like the owner doesn't care that much.

Foul language and bad attitude. Pizza is good though! Stopped ordering calzones because they could never quite get my "please don't blacken it" request. Head to Johnny's North instead these days - best pizza around, service is always good. Did I mention they have cold beer?

I use to dislike Papa Kenos but they're under new management now and the place has really turned around. The employees are friendlier, the bathrooms are clean, and the pizza is baked perfectly. I definitely recommend giving it another try if you've been disappointed in the past - I'm glad I did :)

best pizza!!!! has the original arthur bryants feel to it, but the staff is nicer. whos ur papa....oh ya...kenos ur papa! slice of the vinnie plz, peperroni salami capicolla REAL pepperoncini nd provolone chz!!!!!!! i can taste it already!

Greta pizza. The Overland Park, Kansas location isn't bad. I prefer Lawrence instead. Keno's is kinda pricey, but pretty good.

I second the other comment, with an added: don't ask for delivery. They seem irritated that you even ask.Thinking carry-out would be better, our order took twice as long as it was supposed to and the second pizza didn't even go in the oven by the time the first one was ready. Seems to be some miscommunication among the employees.Good food, but might not be worth the hassle.Go to Rudy's until Papa's gets their act together.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS DIVE!!! The employees were rude almost to the point of hostility. The pizza is not very good. I ordered one slice. 15 minutes later, they tell me they are out of the toppings I ordered. Then ANOTHER 15 minutes later I finally get my one slice of pizza...half an hour for a greasy, not too tasty piece of pizza from some rude, snotty college kid. Also, I have never seen such a filthy restaurant before.

I have eaten at papa keno's many times... and each of the locations service was fine. Have you ever been to gates barbecue? They scream at you like"MAY I HELP YOU". I dont hear any one complaining about that. Papa kenos says your name loud when the pizza is done... BIG DEAL. They have excellent variety, and healthy selection. Hands down best pizza in Lawrence and Kansas city.

The employees are extremely rude. If you have not been their before or you are ordering delivery and you do not know exactly what you want, watch out! They are certain to make you feel like an outsider and not welcome!

Im 44 and I recently relocated to the Topeka area. I am originally from Philadelphia - home of the Cheese Steak, Hoagie and some really great pizza.
I have to say that it is VERY FRUSTRATING to get any of the above that even comes close to the quality back home in Philly. I've tried "Jersey Mike's" for steaks and hoagies - nadda. Ain't gettin it. I found my way into Papa Keno's one afternoon - the service was ok, the atmosphere was cool and THE PIZZA WAS INCREDIBLE!
Even though it a 30 minute drive I'll be back again and again. Good thing they aren't here in Topeka as I'd be eating it 5 times a week but then again I wouldn't mind.

I think so, with Rudy's a close second. I havn't had service problems and I've been there quite a few so... Selection is great, I usually get the Kid Keno. Best part is the large chunks of garlic perfectly roasted on the kid keno. They have a nice selection of Mirco-brewery beers. Also I'm from NY and this place holds its own.

At Papa Keno's today for lunch, I was met with a rude cashier who seemed to have no interest in serving me, for whatever reason. When he gave me the salad dressing for my salad, I saw that the container was covered in an off-white translucent goo. I pointed this out, at which point he gave me a nasty look and said "what do you think is wrong with it?". Other stuff happened between myself and this jerk that I don't want to go into so as not to defame Papa Keno's just because of one idiot they hired. But I will say that it's QUITE OFTEN that the service is VERY lacking and rude.

I don't know about the owner but the sevrvice is well enough. I've been going to Papa Keno's ever since I was little. They have wonderful food and the people that work there have never been mean. If you're looking for a wonderful pizza place that is not fast food (although they do serve you quickly for your approval), Papa Keno's is the way to go.
