Wayne and Larry's is by far my girlfriend and I's favorite place to eat in Lawrence. The wings are the best in town. You want em extra crispy, they'll be extra crispy. More sauce? They'll do it. Less sauce. They'll do that too. I've never had a bad meal here. Prices are also very, very reasonable. Their menu is huuuge as well. Anyone should able to find something to satisfy their palate.

The food and service here was ok. It was what you would expect at most bars. However, this is the last place in Lawrence that you should go to. We went here to watch the first KU basketball game of the season and instead of getting to hear the audio on the game, we were forced to listen to a bunch of terrible hip-hop songs that someone had queued up on the jukebox. This is a sports bar for god's sake. The only reason to go here is to watch a game. In addition to this, the clientele was a bunch of ghetto trash and there was literally no women. Hang out here only if you want to have a really bad time. I imagine this place will be out of business pretty soon.

Maybe others have had better luck getting good food and service here, but I know I've certainly haven't. I try to give a place several tries to keep me coming back. But everytime I've been to Wayne & Larry's, I've gotten terrible food and service. I'm not sure how many opportunities I need to give before hanging it up. So I guess if it impresses you, by all means keep going. You're having better luck than my family.

The food, drinks, and atmosphere are exactly what I would expect from a sports bar. Great drink specials every night of the week. Just watch out for the little blonde bartender. She might be the most gorgeous thing I've seen in this town, but yikes--friendly she is not!

I like their food. Burgers are pretty darned good and their wings are yummy. But I agree that their service is lacking (although most service in Lawrence is sub-par). Here's a good one....a couple of friends ate there before bowling one night and the waitress tracked them down in the bowling alley because they "shorted" her 10 cents. TEN CENTS!! Are you kidding me? And she was a snot about it. No thank you, I'll take mine carry-out, please.

After reading the comments, I had no idea what to expect. I didn't expect the great atmosphere and wonderful food that we had just this week. Our wait staff was attentive to the large group we were with and the manager couldn't have been any more helpful.
P. S. I had one of the best KC strip steaks I've ever eaten!

Many of the comments on here are far from the truth. Wayne and Larrys is a great place to eat or to just hang out. They have a number of great TVs and are very willing to adjust any of them to whatever someone pleases. To go along with that, they have a shuffle board table, two new pool tables, arcade games, and even an outdoor patio. There are a lot of complaints on here about service and waiting for food. For this, the girls are great- i have gone there many times and had great service. On another note, about waiting for food, one must know that the kitchen there is about the size of someone's arm span, so only so much food can be cooking at one time. This is neither the servers, nor the cooks fault, just a poor judgement call by the owners when the place opened. I have had the pleasure to meet both Wayne and Larry, and they are both exceptional guys. I have talked to Wayne many more times, and i constantly see him in there conversing with guests and making sure that everyone is satisfied. For two owners who have never owned, ran, or had anything to do with the resturaunt business before, i think they are doing the best they can and running a fine establishment with good food, good servers, and setting a great atmosphere. Keep up the good work!!!

They have bogo coupons all over town which is great, and there are lots of tvs to watch games which is cool, but the service SUCKS!!! Those servers were ignoring our table, and our food took a really long time to come :(

I guess the place has improved since the above review 'cause I found it excellent. The food was very fresh & tasty & the service very exceptional for a sports bar. Easily the most varied menu for a local sports bar. They have the huge offering of sports TV. It's hard to believe that there is room in this frat boy town for another sports bar but Wayne & Larry's is very high quality.

I for one will never tread on Rick's and the fabulous shuffleboard that it provides me, but I will say that I am curious about Wayne and Larry's table and will most likely go and give it a try. To me, it's a great concept. Bowling, shuffleboard, sports, pool, beer, and all of the greasy food you could ever possibly want under one roof. That's what some call heaven.
And to the idiot who said that Louise's West has a table, I wonder if when they stood up from sitting on it, they noticed that in no way is it functional.

C'mon folks...this business has been open 3 months. I think they are doing pretty good. And, the nice thing is, they are always open for suggestions,as MOST businesses should be.
Yes, as with any place where you will find "young female" employees you will find your flirts, along with males. Yes, some are a bit obvious and some are a bit...should I say, skanky? BUT, let's face it people, being a female myself, I KNOW that the way to get MEN to come into a bar is to have gorgeous girls to look at. And let's face it, the men are at the bar more often than women...for the most part, how many MEN do you think would come in there if they only had other men or College boys to look at? Now...I HAVE suggested that the men dress more provocative for us WOMEN who frequent the place snicker but...let's face it, some men are just not as easy as some women. Or should I say some men have more "respect" for themselves than some women.
As far as hiring young, pretty girls, with figures...hmmm...well, look at Hooters, it has made them LOTS of money and they have LOTS of locations so...where is it so wrong that these guys are trying the same thought process? I think ANY bar here in town has done this over the years as I have noticed myself. They must have had a waitress go to their establishment that someone is pissed about losing or not getting to hire.
I have yet to get a bad plate of food in there, the service is always good, yes, sometimes it takes a few minutes to get a drink but it has always been because the bar area is full, the bartender is filling beers and the waitress is ordering what we need.
Sometimes, I have to wonder, do some people just get paid to sit back and BASH people? I WISH I had that much time on my hands that I had NOTHING better to do with my time. Are people really that miserable that they have to try to bring people down to their level?
By the way, I AM a bowler, as is my husband and YES we do eat there, along with many other bowlers. Did you ever stop to think that maybe some do not eat there because they eat at home before coming bowling because they have time or a family to feed and prefer to do it that way? And it is no more pricey than any other bar that you would eat at and the food is just as good as any other bar in town...well...unless it was a Johnny's Burger! wink

The food's alright. Typical bar food - nothing outstanding. Decent, cheap eats. The problem is with the wait staff. Our waitress was too busy flirting with another customer to tend to us. While I have a high level of tolerance, I couldn't overlook her unprofessional behavior. Not impressed...

The food itself was awsome! The Service on the other hand was horrible!!! We sat at our table and waited for about 15 min to have our drink order taken. There were only about 15 people in the resturant. It was another 20 minutes until we were served our drinks! Our waitress who we will not name(Jeanette) admitted that she forgot about us!!! Maybe because she was to busy SITTING at another table chatting her head off. She did apoligize and stated "it so hectic in here" Wow!! Nor did she check on us the whole time until it was check time! We even had to go to her to get a refill on our drinks. The food itself was good enough to bring us back. Just please don't set us in Jeanette's section!

I have been there three times. The food is well worth the first trip and any there after. The service well lets put it this way, of those three times I have been there (all for lunch) two times the service has been the worst service I have ever had. The first time I asked the waitress for a refill of tea and she looked at me like I just slapped her. The second time I applaud the waiter I had, he was great. The most recent time the waitress acted like she could care less if I was there or not. The only reason I keep coming back is the food is excellent. The vibe is only brought down because the restaurant is attached to a bowling alley (No big deal). Also where are the hotties you advertise in the commercials? That all being said I would go and make your own choice, hopefully you will get the waiter that cares, if not at least you will have the food to look forward too.

Honestly, the food was sub-par, and the service was a joke both times I have visited the place. Nice set-up and fun atmosphere, I would like to say its just because they were busy or new...but when you are 1 of 3 tables in the place, theres really no excuses. I was told to give it a second chance, I did, and got the same outcome. They are really going to have to fix things before fall (football and basketball games) comes around if they want to make it in this town.

Best pork tenderloin in town!! The hot wings are good and so is the Italian beef sandwich. It is soooo juicy the drippings soak the homeade bun and is covered with spicy vegetable mix. Very good! Nice pool tables and good ol classic rock.

Wow, I expected typical bar food and I was not impressed. My food took 40 minutes to arrive. I had a salad and wings. The wings were cold and the server was rude. The only one who cared was the bartender. I had to remind the server to get my salad multiple times. I saw one of the owners in there and he didn't even care. I give this place til December until it is shut down.

The description needs updating more than perhaps anything else on this needs to be updated website (in terms of bars and restaurants, the calender is outstanding). Wayne and Larry's as much as I don't want to admit it, is a great bar, very good TV set up (more than a dozen), two pool table, darts, a shuffle board table (only one in Lawrence other than Rick's) couple of golden tee/silverstrick bowling arcade games and VERY nice and VERY NEW looking decor. Actually no other bar in Lawrence looks as new and nice as Wayne and Larry's. I had the Onion Petals and they were outstanding, bartenders/waitresses good looking ladies. only complaint is that you can't bounce back and forth between the bowling alley. (It still blows my mind tht I think highly of a place that is attatched to a bowling alley)

the burgers at Chubby's are considered to be the best burgers in town judged by a variety of sources throughout the area. I am very surprised that your writers didn't mention the various Chicago style items on the menu such as the Vienna Beef hot dogs, italian beef and sausage sandwiches, and polish sausages. To question such things as the born on date of the burger buns is rather extreme. Also this establishment has very reasonable priced home-cooked lunch specials. I highly recommend anyone who hasn't eaten there to try the food, you'll be surprised at what you find.
