About this place
This new joint in the former Molly McGee's space has an upscale dance club vibe—with unique details like an indoor fountain and a chandelier in the ladies' room, and none of the typical bar noise from pool tables or TVs.
It boasts Lawrence's largest dance floor, and DJs are spinning pretty much nonstop during weekends. There are two ginormous bars and plenty of seating room, including VIP booths that you can reserve just off the dance floor.
The patio is heated and screened-in and allows smoking.

I was looking for a safe environment to take my daughter to celebrate her 18th birthday, and I found it at Chateau 24. We were in one of the VIP area's and the manager made it a point to come over and talk to us to make sure we were having a good time and to wish my daughter a Happy Birthday. I have never been to a bar where the owner makes contact with you. Great atmosphere if you want to dance the night away. Very diverse crowd of men and women. It was a great time and we would definatly go back again!

Wilde Chateau if a fun little dance club for people interested in just going out and having some fun with a group of friends. The cover is fairly cheap for all to enter, and the Pride Nights on Wednesday nights nearly make up for the lack of an actual gay club in Lawrence. It's a very open and diverse group that come into the club, and that makes it all the more fun to go on different nights to see who does show up. They play a lot of popular music such as techno, rap, hiphop, pop, all put to heavy party beats making it a very dancer-friendly enviroment. The bartenders try to be quick to get you served, and most of them are fairly friendly.
The only issue is that it's very noisy and can get very crowded. It's fun during the big party nights, but it's not good if you want to chat with the cute girl/boy you meet at the bar because you'll barely be able to hear a thing over the music, and depending on the night you may never see them again just in trying to navigate through the crowd. Due to it's size the only quiet place to talk is the smoker's porch. If you want something low-key, social, but still fun, you may want to try their sister bar/cafe Henry's on Mass St.

I think that Chateau is a great place to hang and have a great time. The staff and diversity of the people there is awesome. I guess some people still feel like we live in the dark ages and can't mix together.

You assume that I was talking just about Wednesdays. That's only the Chateau's gayest night. This is just Henry's but bigger and more gay people, which like I said is fine unless you want to meet girls. If you're looking for straight girls, Thursdays and Fridays are much better at a place like Abe & Jakes.

Pretty sure there are tons of girls (and by girls i mean straight girls) that come out to Chateau, even on Wednesday nights (pride night). Which btw no one ever called The Granada a gay club because they hosted gay night on Wednesdays in the past.

Not to be a buzzkill, but the first comment is from one of the club's owners. (Search lawrencegrl on Google and that's the first result you get.) That's to be expected because the Chateau is at best a second rate club with second rate entertainment that unsuccessfully attempts to pass as a place for everyone, but one visit will show you that it's Lawrence's only gay club (although unofficially). They're doing themselves and the local community a disservice by staying in the closet. I don't have a problem with gay people, but this isn't the place to go if you're looking to meet girls.

It has a great dance floor, but of course if your looking for some new electronic beats don't even look in Lawrence because there is no place to dance to electronic music. I mean there is, but you can never count on it being good music or even count on there being dance music. I hope though after time we can catch on say 10 years after Europe did, someday we can go to a club on a Friday and Saturday and actually know that there will be bad ass electronic beats a blazin, but for now there's nothing to rely on. Chateu could really make it happen if they wanted to.
