Kylie Grater, the founder of LOLA (Ladies of Lawrence Artwork), has been in the wholesale "natural" jewelry business for 3 years. Starting out of her house, she's managed to break out with the help of her friends and an order for 6,000 pieces for Urban Outfitters. Whether transforming the tips of antlers into chic earrings or helping to start the whole geode necklace trend, Grater's intuitive feel for found objects has her downtown Lawrence-based Early Jewelry booming. But what do you do when your brainchild becomes too big for you to handle alone? Kylie chats about how networking, the Internet and being friendly have been essential to the success of her business.
