Rev. Peter Luckey welcomes Josh Longbottom to Lawrence - in his first week as associate pastor of Plymouth Church - with this meditation on the gift of ministry. Ministry is a joyful gift and it is a gift to be shared by everyone - we all have the power to be mediators of God's grace through the Holy Spirit. And ministry can be a hard gift, but it is not dependent on human strength but on God, as reads 2 Corinthians 4: "Therefore, since through God's mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. ...For God, who said, 'Let light shine out of darkness,' made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us."
