"There's a little Tom Sawyer in all of us," says 12-year-old actor Sally Spurgeon. It might be that little piece of mischief that lives inside us. A cast of 40 -- including many children -- is examining Tom Sawyer's life in a stage adaptation of the classic Mark Twain novel. The production, which opens at 7 tonight at the Lawrence Arts Center, is the focus of this week's Pulse Podcast. Director Ric Averill and several child actors talk about the story and what makes "Tom Sawyer" such an engaging story.
