Born out of a house in the student ghetto, Chomp Womp is a group of local musicians and aesthetes whose aim is to support music that otherwise may not get the voice it deserves. Or, as they put it: "Chomp Womp rose like Athena from the skulls of Plains kids infatuated with guitars and drugs." The collective is gearing up to release a second compilation spanning sounds from rock to punk to electro.

The comp features local acts Bandit Teeth, Hairy Belafonte, Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk and Norrit as well as non-local acts such as Thoughtforms (UK) and Alas Alak Alaska.

Chomp Womp will host a comp release party on 08/08/08 at the Bottleneck with performances by Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk, The Armory, Weird Wounds, Waterfowl Habitat, Ree-Yees and DJ Iggy Baby.

Chomp Womp boss man Jonathan Doerr and Luke Namee (of the bands Baby Birds Don't Drink Milk and Boo and Boo Too) stopped by our podcast studio to share some tracks from the new comp and discuss the latest happenings in the Chomp Womp camp.
