This episode by guest host Gavon Laessig.
Adrianne Verhoeven (better known as Dri to those who just can't find the time for extra syllables) is everywhere at once. After entrenching herself in the Lawrence music scene with The Anniversary, this genre hopping singer/songwriter's omnipresence can be felt in Fourth of July, Art In Manila and now with her solo album, "Smoke Rings." Released on Lawrence's own Rangelife Records, "Smoke Rings" has garnered Dri enough attention that she and her brand new band-Jake Blanton on guitar, Alex Delanda on bass, and Josh Adams on drums-will soon be opening for Modest Mouse and touring with Conor Oberst along the west coast. She's also got a show this week in Lawrence. Before embarking on this musical campaign, Dri sat down with us on the patio to discuss severed human feet, wine coolers, and hot oil wrestling. Oh, and she was nice enough to play some music for us, as well.
