Great food, good prices and it is BYOB. I bring a bottle of wine every time and you can skip the 6 dollar glasses that most restaurants sell, this fact alone makes this restaurant awesome.

Looks like kaleb has a personal vendetta, they are doing fine without your service.

A new Resturant is going to OPEN in Down town Called the Lebanese Flower, it going to be much cheaper and better and more filling and most importantly THEY ARE GOOD PEOPLE and they DESERVE the best.
and atlast we get real Arabian Food to this town.
Aladins Cafe will always be Aladdins cafe nothing more.

The gyro meat and the lamb kebabs are phenomenal. Lots of food for a low price: my husband and I actually split our meals and still get full.

The great thing about this place is that it's not too expensive to get adventurous and try things you've never even heard of. (I always hate to spend $12 on an appetizer I may hate, so at other restaurants I never stray from my comfort zone. Aladdin's Cafe has remedied me of this! Which is great, since their menu is varied and fantastic.)

On most nights the service is great. On some, it's horrible. The food and the atmosphere (and the prices!) make it worth it though.

everything was great until i cut my mouth from eating some hummus that i found out had a piece of glass in it. I'm just glad i didn't swallow it. After finding it i told the server (who didn't seem to care) and he said he'd go get a manager. The manager never came. Later after asking again the server told us there was no manager there. So unless you like glass in your food i wouldn't suggest it

Very good. Love the pita bread. I've heard that their lentil soup is very good also. Everyone I know loves this place. One of my favorite places to eat in Lawrence.

When I first moved to Lawrence, the Mad Greek was my favorite restaurant. My husband and I have been very disappointed in the quality of the Mad Greek's food over the past year (bland, prepackaged) and the service (with the exception of one or two waitresses, very bad).

Aladdin's Cafe beats the pants off of the Mad Greek. Their food is fresh and wonderful, and the wait staff knows how to recommend a good meal.

Also, my husband and I were able to gorge ourselves on entrees AND appetizers and ended up spending at most $25.

Good food at great prices. You will be hard pressed to find a better Gyro meat. They give you plenty of food at reasonable prices. Service is good and the atmosphere is pleasent. Next time you are in ...check out their Swarmah(spelled phonetically because I don't know how to spell it)...their Swarmah Chicken....

This place has the best hummus EVER! My friend and I came there at around 3 today, when it was not real busy, and were given excellent service and excellent food. My vegetarian combo was perfect, only I wish the portions were bigger, but for the price I can't complain. 5-7 dollars will get you a meal big enough for 2 or 3. I don't know why the other comments said the service was indifferent, we had excellent service. Forget her name, but we had a tall blonde waitress who always made sure we had enough drinks and made sure we were constantly taken care of, even though she was the only one working. We were both impressed. My only complaints were not enough falafel and other things on the vegetarian combo, and, this isn't Aladdin's fault, but you can't smoke hookah inside. Food: 10/10. Service: 10/10. Vibe: 11/10, this place is AWESOME!

Amazing, absolutely amazing food. I've never had better hummus or babaganouj anywhere. Their dolmas are fresh with tender leaves. The vegetarian combo plate is nearly impossible to finish in one setting but you'll want to try, it's that good. The sandwiches are an excellent value and the pita is warm and soft. The ingredients are traditional and simple. Try the Turkish coffee with your meal.

My only complaints would be that they don't ever seem to offer quite enough pita and the falafel, although good, is small and doesn't seem to be made by hand like their other offerings seem to be. The servers seem indifferent.

I can't get enough of Aladdin Cafe and go there often. I've never been disappointed in their food. Very highly recommended.

Outstanding food, everything prepared daily (gasp! by hand, in their kitchen) including the greek salad dressing (which must have heroin in it). The Hummus & Gyros, sandwich or plate, might be the most satisfying $6 you could ever spend. Lamb is Halal, authentic preparation and ingredients, by a Jordanian family. I'm sorry Mad Greek fans, that is American-Greek, this is the real thing.

Has the potential to be a great place! However, 2/3 times I've been in I've gotten a male server who just doesn't care. He forgets half your order, is as brief as possible (as if he doesn't want to talk to you), and looks at you like you're an alien if you have any request the slightest bit abnormal. I'm a server myself -- I know when special requests are stupid, and mine are not.

The food is pretty good. I had the chicken and couscous dish twice, each time very good.... the 3rd time I tried the vegetarian platter. It was all greasy (not at all healthy like I thought it would be), and it really wasn't all that great. Also, the portion was very small considering the price. I suggest starting your meal with a salad, which has a great dressing -- not the soup, which is OK, but lacking in flavor.

I enjoy coming here so long as I request "not that server!"

I have only dined here for the Sunday buffet.....oh my goodness!

Everything I had was excellent! I thought I hated catfish until I had it here! When it was announced that another platter of fish had been served, I thought I would be trampled in the stampede.

We had a very pleasant server, the atmosphere was relaxing, the price was more than a bargain, and the buffet offerings were delicious. A thoroughly delightful dining experience!
Thank you!.

I've been to a number of high caliber restruants in numerous large metropolitan areas of the US, many of which charge 30 to 50 and entry, and this place (sometimes far) exceeds them for 1/3 to 1/5 the price.

If there is better food in Lawrence than this place, then Lawrence truly is a kick ass place to live...

This is the only restaurant in town where I simply will not eat. I may have hit them on an off day but he one time I ate there the food was horrifically bad and I was sick to my stomach for two days afterward.

I've eaten there twice now and have been impressed both times. The hummous is delicious with an authentic twist of roasted sumac on top. Waitress was wonderful, funny and effective. Took a friend there from out of town, she was impressed too.
