About this place
Since Pachamamas opened in 1996, Lawrence diners have been able to sample fresh fare from around the world, thanks to a menu that features a dozen or so new entrees every month. Though the menu is among the more expensive in town, the 'Mama's meals are always on the cutting edge of the culinary arts, using simple, yet refined techniques to bring out the best and most natural flavors in foods. The chef/owner works closely with local growers and purveyors to make the freshest food possible. Appetizers and wine tasting Friday nights from 6 to 8.
"Star Bar" is located in the back of the restaurant.
In late 2005, they opened to this location and converted their old building into a catering facility.

Pachamama's is not worth the cost. If you're looking for a pricey place with a great atmosphere SUPERIOR service and AMAZING food go to Krauses. There's a reason Krause's made it on Food and Wine magazine's list of the top 100 places to try in the country in January.
Honestly,Pachamama's is highly over priced, and the food is not worth it. The chef tries too hard and the result is a over-complicated mesh of flavors.
In NYC and Boston, I have had much better food for the same prices, if not less, and the cost of living there is much higher.

The first time I ate here, I had a delicious fish dish (sea bass perhaps) and it blew my socks off. The second time, I had a dish featuring pork and mashed potatoes. I have a pretty strong stomach, but it was too rich for me and was not cooked to their standards. Despite that, I will go back because of their unique menus, environment and experienced and friendly staff. The prices are high, yes, but it's priced just right.

Great food and atmosphere, as well as wonderful service in the dining room. The bar has that much greatness to offer...except for the service. The drinks taste great, but it takes forever for service unless you are a good friend of the bartender on shift. I don't believe that waiting for 10 minutes to be served after initial eye contact is good service. Serving patrons in a timely and efficient manner is what a bartender should do. Just because you may not know someone doesn't mean they aren't a retired seasoned bartender who knows how to tip REALLY well. Paying attention to guests and less time socializing = more $$$.

Food was excellent! Service really lacked. The quality of food really is what you would find in any big city, but the service is totally representative of Lawrence. Not overly attentive, young college students was the norm. Definately worth a trip to Lawrence, but expect the food to be the highlight!

Overpriced for what you get. However, the bartenders are really fantastic and worth the trip. Clint and Katie are awesome.

good food, overpriced, they spilled a plate-full of food in my mothers lap - fools. Pay close attention to your bill, as they may just forget which bottle of wine you ordered and charge you for a more expensive bottle than you ordered.
