Anyone familiar with bands like Joy Division or the Chameleons will frequently recall those bands while listening to Interpol. Others will come to mind, too: Echo & the Bunnymen, Television, Afghan Whigs. Comparisons follow the NYC band like so many hordes of fans. But who cares? Interpol's dark, post-punk dance-floor swagger is so damn enjoyable, it feels right -- not like a rip-off -- that they should share such company. Besides, we're already wading through the inevitable sea of Interpol copycats...
