Note: ticket price recently raised to $28.50 (from $25). 100+ tickets left as of noon the day of the show. Of course, you'll long regret it if you don't take this opportunity to see a show that should have been sold out MONTHS ago.
Sonic Youth is defined by their abandoning of any pretense of traditional rock conventions. Their distinctive dissonance and alternate tunings have come around to a decidedly pop overtone with their last two albums, while maintaining strong ties to their dissonant roots. After a stellar 25-year career to which many modern-day bands owe their sound, Sonic Youth rarely makes stops to such an intimate venue as Liberty Hall - and so this show promises to be one of the standout highlights among this year's Lawrence major tour stops.

Go to this show! They were amazing at the Blue Note in Columbia 2 summers ago.

Wait, nevermind.
Why would you go to this when you can see them in St. Louis or Omaha with The Flaming Lips.
