Decibully / Headlights
When: Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, 9 p.m.
Where: The Jackpot Music Hall, 943 Mass., Lawrence
Cost: $5
Age limit: 18+
Categories: Rock
Description: Decibully is a folk-tinged rock band with oodles of extra goodies: lap steel, Rhodes piano, banjo, etc. Hailing from the "City of Festivals" (Milwaukee), the band veers between ornate slumbering ballads and electrified rock numbers. "Sing Out America" is the band's most recent full-length but they'll be packing a $5 tour EP for their latest jaunt across the States.
Polyvinyl Records labelmates Headlights hail from Champaign, IL and play "indie pop with a shoegazey aftertaste" that alternates male/female vocals and integrates lovely flavors like Wurlitzer, Moog and pedal steel. The band recently released its debut full-length "Kill Them With Kindness."
