Conor Oberst has a way with words. He uses a lot of them, and he uses them well. They're often cryptic or nonsensical, but young folks seem to relate nonetheless and respond in kind by putting his songs on mix tapes (er, iTunes playlists?). He's played with dozens of collaborators and helped make Omaha's Saddle Creek Records a smashing success, all the while snubbing his nose at "the man" by banning venues associated with Clear Channel and singing protest songs on David Letterman. While his 2005 release "Digital Ash in a Digital Urn" marked a half-interesting foray into experimental electronica, he remains a folkie at heart who is most comfortable with an acoustic guitar and a bloody heart on his sleeve (though he'll bring a band along this evening).

Rob Gillaspie loves this guy. I'm guessing he'll be front row center with his white belt and male purse on him.
