Adieu, adieu, to you and you and you

End of an era, indeed. Best of luck to you as you move on. Go, Joel!

Apologize, 'Apologize'

This reminds me of a recent news story on musician/producer T-Pain, explaining why, with six performer or producer credits on songs out right now, you're more than likely to hear his work if you tune into just about any hip-hop-format station:

"Most stations have about 16-20 songs in their rotation."

16-20. That's...what? Two to two-and-a-half hours of unique programming (if you count out 20 minutes of every hour for commercials and chatter)?

This would make me crazy, in very short order, no matter what the music was.

Border War blahblah

See, Joel -- and here I thought you'd be watching BSG.

Sigh

Just in case there was someone out there who still thought that CNN might still have any legitimacy or dignity: O.J. 2.

De-Woodying my life

Next time you offload, Joel, you should start off by inviting your readers to a drinks (or coffee) and browsing party at your house. I mean, I like the idea of you supporting the DB, but what a nice way to show love for your many fans, huh?

Silent Sunday

I spend too much time on the internets -- some work, some piddling. Somehow, I always end up looking up to the clock on my computer, only to realize it's after midnight, and 5 hours have blown by. Yes, that's right: I said FIVE HOURS. And that's pretty routine for me.

But, to alleviate this, I suggest a quick peek at the "Hipster PDA": http://www.43folders.com/2004/09/03/i...

Deadwood

I love Deadwood -- FPMs and stockshuckers aside, it's the closest that TV has ever gotten to Shakespeare. Farnum in particular gets in some excellent soliloquies. I was sorry that it didn't get renewed for a full fourth season. I've only watched through season 3 -- are those last very-long episodes out?

And I bought BSG on iTunes, on your recommendation. And binged. Thanks a lot.

I liked season one of the Wire; season two I found less compelling. Never got to season three, I'm afraid.

Hope for 'Firefly' fans

Shelby -- you can also netflix the series. Because of Fox's misguided decision to cancel it midseason, there are only 13 episodes, so it's not much of an investment of time. I think the movie kinda stands on its own, but it's definitely better if you've seen the series.

Personally, I'd rather see the series revived (Sci-Fi channel... I'm looking at you) than see another movie, but I'll take what I can get.

Isn't that cute?

You know, the baldness of this statement is probably due to his youth, but I imagine that he's only saying what 98% of the rest of the paparazzi are thinking, but are ashamed to admit, even to themselves.
