I too feel like a traitor to my gender for not being the obligatory chocoholic. I'm also a pastry chef so, yikes, double bad. I think that Thanksgiving dessert should make the most of the season. I always do a super easy apple cranberry crisp. Its so easy there is no real recipe. Just cut up 4 tart apples, combine w/ fresh or dried cranberries, toss with sugar and bit of cornstarch. Top with enough oats, nuts, brown sugar and butter to cover the fruit. Bake at 350 til bubbly and brown, maybe 30-35 minutes. Delish...
Checkers does carry some locally/humanely produced meat in the open freezer section across from the meat dept. They also have some local produce pretty regularly, locally-made gluten-free products and the best fresh herb selection in town for cheap. Yay for Checkers!
And the Merc could use an attitude adjustment. For a bunch of people living/eating so healthily they sure seem unfriendly and miserable. I think a smile every once in a while might extend your life as much as expensive organic food.
Loved "Let the Right One in". Not looking forward to the American remake. I would have put "Slither" on the list over "The Descent" even tho I'm all about female empowerment. "The Descent" was just boobs covered in gore. Oh wait, I get why its on the list now...
