The noise problem in the bar area is real. The dining room, while a little boring, is very quiet. The food is good. It had some growing pains in the beginning, food and service (escpecially service), but I feel they have worked out the kinks and would recommend it to anyone.
Please people, set your standars higher. News flash, places like Applebees, Chiles, and this place are not good food. It is frozen and brought in on a truck. I am critical of these places because I have been cooking since I was very young. Go to Jaliscos or Tropicana were it is locally owned and made from scratch. Decor is very cool though.
Complete garbage. Go to Jaliscos or Tropicana. This place tastes like the food comes from a can. Bad, bad, bad. If you are like the rest of the restaurant zombies who thinks On The Border is good, you may like it.
Biggs BBQ hot sauce is the best in town hand's down. Quick's, now gone, was ketchup like. Vermonts is unedible cocktail sauce tasting, and Buffalo Bob's is..........well, Buffalo Bob's. Biggs has it right but the location is very bad. I would love to see them relocate and make it but that is not likely. I hope you guys keep it open with a lot of catering jobs, your food is the best BBQ in town.
I do not know what happened to this place but it is bad. The Health Department reports on this place are the worst I have read on any Lawrence restaurant. Get a new manager and hire a pest control company.
The beer is the best in the country. The food is terrible to mediocre. First off, if you are one of the regulars who drinks on the porch every day, your not cool, your a drunk. Your no different then the guy's down at Louises. Second, hey Freestate Staff, your not cool, your restaurant workers, lose the attitude. Third, if a restaurants claim to fame is fish and chips, your menu is weak. I have never had a good meal, I have had edible meals. This is what Lawrence is known for though. Lawrencians want cheap, cheap food that fills there stomach. Quality is pretty far down the list. This explains why places like Applebee's, Jimmy John's, and Chile's are on the "Best Of" list every year.

Teller's
The only award this place should win in "Best Of" is most inconsistent. Seared Tuna should not be cooked well done. That makes it a can of tuna.
