How I came to live in Lawrence (if applicable): Came here to college, left to work in Illinois and Wyoming, got fired, came back, got offered a job in Oklahoma. Took it.
Things I miss about Lawrence since moving away (if applicable): When I moved away, the thing that I missed most was the energy. There are some towns out there that are truly dead -- and I lived in two of them.
Affiliations: The only affiliation I need is to Dolph Simons, Jr. and the World Company. Yes, I drank the Kool-Aid.
Hobbies: Playing sports, watching sports, and jogging.
Favorite blogs: "Cup 'O Joel" is Paul Pierce to my Eric Chenowith.
Favorite media: I don't like the media.
Favorite Web sites: www.nuggets.com, www.denverpost.com, www.bostonsportsguy.com, www.kgwn.tv
Favorite music: Country and hip hop. I had a strange childhood.
Favorite books: "Tuesdays With Morrie," cliche, yet still thought-provoking. "A Fan's Guide To KU Men's Basketball at Allen Fieldhouse"
Favorite TV shows: "The Daily Show" is John Elway to every other show's Brian Griese.
Favorite movies: Field Of Dreams, Hoosiers, Seabiscuit, Showgirls
Opinion on the South Lawrence Trafficway issue: When I first moved to town, I really wanted it to be built. Now, I hope it never sees the light of day. Why should our nature be sacrificed just so people can drive from Topeka to Johnson County?
Opinion on West Lawrence: It's where I've lived off and on for the last five years, so, begrudgingly, I like it. Someday, however, I want to live somewhere with a little more soul.
Opinion on the smoking ban: It's the best thing that's happened to Lawrence since Wilt Chamberlain.
A short essay on why I am or am not a hipster: I am a wannabe hipster. I'm too old to know what is still cool, yet too young to just give up.
Starf*cker / Ghosty :: This Portland trio blends laptop programming with live instrumentation for an easygoing pop sense reminiscent of Air or The Flaming Lips' "Yoshimi" material ... More info
