I have a hard time trying to pick my favorite episode of the STAR WARS series. It's like a parent trying to pick their favorite offspring.
I have to be the only person out there who appreciates what Lucas has done with the Episodes I-III, but, I am mystified by one thing: why is now that everyone is noticing the politics? Was anyone watching ATTACK OF THE CLONES?
Well, the point Lucas was making with the first trilogy is this: evil has to come from somewhere, even from a cherubic, selfless child like Anakin Skywalker.
Let's look this: that cherubic selfless child turned into a reactive, borderline psychotic teenager with fascist leanings. Take the scene when Anakin recounted to Padme his extermination of the Tuskin settlement from ATTACK OF THE CLONES. Remove this from the sci-fi/fantasy setting. Substitute a human race/ethnicity for the Tuskins. Now, have this teenager telling his girlfriend about this and wonder why she's dumb enough to stay with someone who has just committed an act of genocidal violence. Then, she realizes that she LOVES him.
Soon, they get married and she tells him that she's pregnant. No problem---they'll live on love.
In the meantime, he spends his time hanging out with some shady politician who is promising him of these things, just as long as he follows him (Hmmm....a Palestinian rabbi had the same dilemma, but he gave someone the finger....)
Given that this kid looks at processing thought and thinking like most people look at their own vomit, he merrily goes on the path of Hell, and with the help of Homeland Security/Waffen SS, goes on another genocial killing spree, this time, all over the world.
But his dear little love pumpkin Padme cannot accept that her man is a psychopathic serial killer, because she LOVES him. Even when she goes to hell to see him, she still doesn't get it. Even after he strangles her, she doesn't get it.
In the midst of this, you wonder why Yoda didn't drop into Dr. Phil and say something like "Honey....that ole boy is a Nazi and he's crazier than a possum on crack...".
Look at the entire STAR WARS saga removed from its fantasy setting. It's one big dysfunctional family deathfest, completely with a psychotic father torturing his daughter and multilating his son, and finding out in the end, that all being a genocidal Nazi gets you is being encased in a permanent iron lung and your children trying to kill you.
As Walt Bodine would say: "What do you have to say about that?"
Since people are too uptight to do anything like dance on tables in Kansas City, it was cool and refreshing to see a place a place where people come to let their hair down.
Forget Disneyland, this is the happiest place of Earth!!
Yes, it has been 60 years since the true face of the homicidal insanity that was the Third Reich was revealed to the world. From that point, some of its architects met the gallows and the world promised never again should we see such incomprehensible inhumanity.
I must say this: we must not delude ourselves in thinking that horror of this nature will never reoccur.
The question should be this: given the nature of human beings and given the propensity of human beings do hideous and heinous things to each other, why are we surprised when capricious and pyschotic death orgies start occurring around the world?
The challenge to the species is this: either continue our Malthusian march to extinction or evolve beyond our medieval mindset.
My thoughts on the re-election of Curious George---I think it was put best by the King of Brogdinag to Gulliver in Swift's GULLIVER'S TRAVELS: "I have but to conclude that your species has to be the most pernicious race of little odious vermin that nature ever suffered to crawl upon the surface of the Earth."
Hmmm...Let's see...you have thousands of grunts in a permanant killzone and a unmanageable clusterfuck that Vietnam look like a well-oiled machine. Besides the fact that they are in this clusterfuck, they have no possibility of rotating back to The World anytime soon.
Yeah, I'm shocked by this.
Then again, I'm really shocked when a bear shits in the woods....
The Force is finally with George Lucas again

Stu's Midtown Tavern
What can I say about Stu's?
It has to one of the most laid back, working-class bars I had ever been to.
I have been coming there off and on since 1999, and I feel like Norm from "Cheers" when I get there.
All I can say is that I love this place!!

The Sandbar
It has to be one of the best bars in Lawrence.
Since people are too uptight to do anything like dance on tables in Kansas City, it was cool and refreshing to see a place a place where people come to let their hair down.

Cadillac Ranch
I have only one thought as to what I wanted to do when I was there: leave....
There were too many obnoxious twentysomethings girls there who thought their pooh didn't stink and...well, it was annoying...
If I really want to have a really bad night, I'll be going back....

Election depression?
My thoughts on the re-election of Curious George---I think it was put best by the King of Brogdinag to Gulliver in Swift's GULLIVER'S TRAVELS: "I have but to conclude that your species has to be the most pernicious race of little odious vermin that nature ever suffered to crawl upon the surface of the Earth."
That's all I have to say about that....

Michael Moore is bad for America
What can I say?
Your thoughtful exergisis and examination of the critics of this Administration leaves me speechless.
To criticize Spridle and Chim-Chim--oh, excuse me--Bush and Cheney would be like a mere mortal criticizing the Gods on Olympus.
Once again, what can I say?
Well, I hope you get what you want on Election Day.
Then only thing is this: don't start crying like a little bitch on with a skinned knee when you get it...

Puppetry of the penis
Huh, huh, huh....that was cool....she said penis....Then, she said it again.....
Personally, I like to call him John Henry Longfellow.....

Finally, Something New to Piss Me Off
How this, folks--make this level playing field for EVERYONE?
WHOA! There's a concept.
My last point: what's the difference between someone who makes $40,000 per annum and someone who's unemployed--one paycheck......
A little food for thought....
We're all serfs on the manor. The smart ones are the one who realize this.... :)
