In Defense of Sex and the City, An Unpopular Opinion

i couldn't agree with this more. society is so critical of women. we are caught in a perpetual catch-22. it seems like no matter how we live our lives, we are always doing SOMETHING wrong. not living up to the standards of extreme feminists, not being submissive enough for mysogynistic men, not being polite enough, not being selfless enough. we even have to answer to other women. if they are jealous, it's our fault. if someone is threatened, it's our fault. if we are "selfish" enough to live our lives for ourselves, we are b*tches. if we have the balls to go after what we want for our own self-fulfillment, we don't care about anyone but ourselves. that "SATC 2" shows 4 women as individual people, simply as who they each are (which INCLUDES but is not DEFINED by they're love of fashion, men, work, fun, etc.) is refreshing. we don't have to make apologies for who we are. we don't owe anyone anything. because i'm a woman means i have to live my life soley to make other people happy? nope, don't think so.

Pre-Occupied: Replay Lounge

interesting, thanks gavon! i've wondered occasionally about this. anyone want to take bets on what it may be in the future? (just for the record, i hope it's always the replay). I'll start...
a diner, or, in the words of gavon (i think), because the devil is among us and hates us all, a ticketmaster outlet.

Top 10 Movies of the Decade

I was thrilled to see your #1 pick! I love this movie. No, I need this movie! This movie is like listening to one of those rock 'n roll songs that gives you butterflies in your stomach, makes your blood run faster, makes you want to jump out of an airplane while having sex. If it's possible to feel more alive while sitting on your couch, this movie does it for me. I want to live in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind." It makes me feel like anything is possible, in love, in life. It's like when you have an awesome dream and wake up and wish the world you were in and the way you felt were your reality instead. Sigh. I'd watch it right now if I wasn't about to go get drunk. :-)

Caption Contest: Gaping Cole

Dear Santa,
Basketball is going really well this year, but I'm having trouble filling the gap.

Size matters

I made this for you all in prison. It's an eclectic, yet delectable combination of unidentifiable excrement, love, and shame. And yes, it's still good.
