Immaturity is Wildcats' weakness

Yes, paavopetie, you are correct. We will see.

I'm curious what your impression is of this season's K-State team. Any thoughts?

Player development is key to Mangino's success

Gordon has played in all 15 games for Minnesota this year heading into the season-finale with Denver. He has 37 tackles and one INT thus far this year. Last year he played eight games with the Vikings and had 14 tackles.

Just how bad was the last century of KU football?

Actually, the previous four of them were down. They're restored now. This blog overlaps on KUsports, and this particular one hasn't loaded on the main page. Anyway, they all (hopefully) should be back in working order.

Rush's traffic troubles not a big deal

"more lies from you:
"No, they busted him while he was trying to rectify the problem.

From KUsports:
He said he showed at court Thursday, "trying to pay both of them (warrants). It didn't work out that way. I was surprised," he said of getting arrested, then posting $500 bond.

Rush's traffic troubles not a big deal

"it wasn't just a traffic violation these were warrants."

Right ... for unpaid traffic tickets. And they arrested him when he went in to take care of the problem. Those aren't false statements. They are facts from published reports. He had unpaid tickets and didn't appear in court when he was supposed to, and they arrested him when he stopped by Lawrence Municipal Court to take care of them.
He should have taken care of it sooner. He didn't. He got in trouble for it. He apologized. His reputation has taken a deserving knock for it, but it's not that big of a deal. If it were, they knew where to find him.

Rush shows his soul

I've gotta disagree with you just a tiny bit Shelby. I think Rush's presence makes or breaks this team when Collins is out of the lineup. With Collins available, Rush's presence doesn't make or break it. But with the 'Hawks already shorthanded at the guard spots, they need a go-to scorer in there.

That said, I share your concern about why Rush's availability went from 15-20 minutes to 36 during the course of a game. My guess is Brandon told the coaches it felt fine ... but that probably had more to do with him not wanting to lose at home to Arizona. Either way, I'm curious how the knee was feeling Monday morning.

Another one bites the dust

There are two things I'm looking at as far as K-State is concerned. First, the fact that the Wildcats need this win to become bowl eligible (and beating MU and Texas would give them a pair of significant wins). Second, Aqib Talib had trouble handling Jordy Nelson when KU and K-State played, so with Pig Brown out of Mizzou's lineup I could see Nelson have a field day. The key is for MU to get serious pressure on the quarterback.

KU-Nebraska: Digging deeper inside the numbers

I was a bit concerned with the way Talib got burned in the endzone twice, but at the same time it seemed this might be the one time that KU has overlooked an opponent a little bit in some facet of a game. The defense didn't seem as focused. At the same time, they didn't expect Nebraska to throw the ball so much -- and even with that many points and yards, they still forced a ton of turnovers.
I don't put too much stock into the defense's performance against Nebraska. I consider it a bit of a fluke. Saturday against Oklahoma State should provide a better indication of whether or not there is cause for concern from the defense. It's pretty clear OSU will throw a lot, and I imagine KU is planning for it.

No more excuses; time to show a little love

Oh, and Joel, I'd have no problems at all seeing Talib in the Heisman running. He's as deserving as anybody based on what he's been doing both ways.

Lazz, you're right about the first few polls. The starting point is true, but seven or eight weeks into the season the polls clearly indicate hat's happening this season. Once it became clear to the pollsters that KU was doing some things right they were willing to bump the Jayhawks up a significant number of places (paired with other teams' losses) to get them where they deserve to be.

It is interesting the way the pollsters' rankings were nearly identical - give or take a few spots - to what the BCS showed when it first came out midseason.
