Getting out

<<In part, this lack of dating/girlfriend is because in the professional class, it is almost impossible to find time that both people can get together. And, what's worse, the amount of time between seeing one another means that each "date" is like a first date all over again.>>

Tikanis....if you deem it important enough, you make it a priority. You've allocated time to work out seven days a week since physical fitness is something you value. If you want a relationship, you must devote time and energy to it. If the other person is interested in you, they will find time for you. Busy professionals have the means to stay in touch during the interval between dates. Consider that time as an opportunity to ponder all that you wish to share with the other person when you do see them. And then savor that time when you are together! Turn off the cell phone, don't check e-mail...be completely with the other person.

Cielito Lindo

Other than making the exceedingly generic categorization as a "Mexican" restaurant, this article fails to provide any useful information on Cielito Lindo's cuisine and so, we're no closer to the answer of the existential Mexican food question.....red or green?!

Moving too fast

The trebly endorsed advice is good. That doesn't necessarily make it any easier to take things at a deliberate pace, especially if emotions (not to mention hormones) are racing ahead. And if the sex is hot, few couples will take the time to discuss attitudes toward money, shared lifetime goals, and other issues that can, over the long term, help or hinder relationship bliss.

Debates: No facts allowed?

"Man is not, unfortunately, a rational creature, but a rationalizing one."

Excellent statement!!

p15: The Gospel according to Mark

The first ten paragraphs of this blog are excellent. The rest of the material's not too shabby either but the opening stimulates imagination while carefully dealing with limited information. Bravo!

p15: Colossians

Messrs Quinn and Hoyt have indeed raised the level of discourse with these blogs. I've enjoyed reading and am looking forward to future installments.
One comment about the slow adoption curve for codices...perhaps material costs were a factor since we're talking animal skins, involving both the loss of future benefit from the animal and a fairly significant investment of skilled labor to turn the skin into a writing surface. Admittedly, parchment was also used for scrolls but I just don't see an explosion in the availability of materials to exploit the bandwith.

Sanctioned Spalshing

This particular water feature was designed to water horses. Watering kids these days is lagniappe!

WALK TO BENEFIT REFURBISHING ROOSEVELT FOUNTAIN

...fountain dedicated in 1910 by President Teddy Roosevelt.
...

The fountain, which has been inoperable for at least 10 years, is located in South Park. But its original use was for watering horses in the intersection of Ninth and New Hampshire streets...

Trenchant commentary throughout but especially apropos in describing the lunacy of the courts (Arver v US, 1918).

In support of gender equity....if a draft/involuntary servitude is instituted, why not draft women as well as men? There are many good women serving in our volunteer forces....
