Eric, since you are in the band, do you know what the deal is with this show? It isn't on the Record Bar website and a call to them confirms that UFB is not on the schedule tonight (unless they are keeping it a secret).
Joel, you must have missed the Janet Reno lecture!
She too singled out Lawrence's downtown when asked how she liked Lawrence and got a nice ovation for it.
While we're on ovations, I find it interesting the Reno was introduced to a *standing* ovation and ended with one as well. Sedaris, however, did not get one at all and I'd have to say I agree with that--it was an enjoyable show, but $40 to be a guinea pig for stories from his next book (which he will then also sell) doesn't seem entirely fair. It certainly had it's high points though, and once the ball got rolling the laughs were fairly infectious.
I've been keeping up on the rest, although I have to say I don't know enough about Clark.
However, in terms of simple political expediency, I'd have to say a Dean-Clark ticket would blow Shrub out of the water...
That said, my ideal is still Kucinich-anyone but Lieberman (or better yet Wellstone-anyone but Lieberman, alas).
Speaking of all this, anyone heard of the report on Drudgereport.com that Hilary is now more seriously thinking of throwing her hat in the ring?! Could be interesting...it would be nice to finally have a woman President....
Hey guys, why don't you all relax and lay off a little bit (or a lot for that matter)?!
Now, I don't disagree that some of Sara's earlier posts could have been a little more fully realized, HOWEVER...
This is, without a doubt, one of the more insightful, indicting posts put up onto this forum (well, especially since Joel's blog descended into a flirt-fest...and, as a reporter, he's never been able to be particularly indicting...just the facts, ma'am, ya know?! nothing against you Joel!). Sara continues to be brutally honest, and with that she is starting to delve into more serious subject matter (that has some consequence to it).
Not that all I want is serious, consequential subject matter (this is a blog after all), but I think maybe Sara got off on the wrong foot and is starting to write herself after the brow-beating she took here (not that see necessarily sees it that way, or needs for anyone to be standing up for her).
So, boys, whatya say? How's about letting your macho indignation mellow for awhile?
Jason
p.s. Besides, unlike most people here, she has the courage to post with her name behind what she has to say.
