Best original soundtrack: Solaris - Cliff Martinez. It also doubles as the best album to fall asleep to.

Best compilation soundtrack: Almost Famous. Only 17 songs made it onto the actual album, but over 50 songs were used and almost all perfectly placed. When they sing Tiny Dancer on the bus, I cry every time. Although Stillwater is certainly no Spinal Tap and should have been left off the official soundtrack, IMHO.

Wow! Your basketball commentary shines here. Your 536 word masturbation had all of two points, comparing K-State to the 2005-2006 KU team and the 2003 Syracuse team. Your last sentence, predicting the traditional powers will continue to do well, is the biggest "no-brainer" of the entire article. With this logic, you would be better suited to predict winners in women's college basketball, where the #1 and #2 seeds in the tournament are by far more likely to make it to the final four than in the men's tournament. Men's college basketball is far more unpredictable. When it actually matters (in the tournament), any of the 65 teams has an opportunity to win it. And your Kansas Jayhawks have an uncanny knack of losing at that point. My prediction is that KU and K-State have an equal chance of losing in the first or second round of the tournament. But I guess we'll see, won't we?

As much as Knocked Up was sexist against women, Juno is sexist against men.

"Die Hard 3? The one with SL Jackson? Better than Alan Rickman and Die Hard? Hmm..."

I think my list was more of a personal favorite's list, and not as objective as I probably should have been.

If you take away the "grounding-breaking originality" of Alien, Die Hard, Star Wars, and simply hold up the sequels to how they deliver what they deliver (sci-fi, action, drama, acting, special effects, etc) compared to the original, that's what I'm looking for. Especially movies that deliver on multiple levels.

Spiderman 2 delivers on:
story
action
drama
comic genre

Empire Strikes Back:
story x 2
drama
sci-fi genre

Die Hard 3:
action
story (plot)

Aliens:
drama
sci-fi genre

Toy Story 2:
story
animation genre
Although, now that I think about it, Shrek 2 was really good, too.

The only reason I left Godfather 2 off was because I found the first one more dramatic.
