Off the Beaten Plate — Salvadoreña Enchiladas at La Parrilla

What a coincidence! (Or maybe not) When we were kids in lieu of TV, we spent hours reading a set of World Book encyclopedias. Probably a blessing. We didn't have a TV until later, and not much to watch back then.

"Reclamation Station" by Justin Marable

I really like "Reclamation Station", especially the inclusion of the van on the right.

Garden Variety: With mimosa trees, don't just think pink

I've had three Mimosas of two different varieties in my yard for years, one a transplanted volunteer, and two I started from seeds.I sure enjoy the fragrant blossoms and their delicate beauty, and they grow like crazy. I've had no problems with disease or insects, but the seed pods end up everywhere. Bear in mind that they drop one for every one of the thousands of blooms and they can become a nuisance, but they rarely sprout in a mowed lawn.
