DOT DOT:

I was mostly just talking about the other blogs there. If our elbows had actually rubbed, you'd know it, because my stink doesn't ever really wash off.

On I've Got The Funereal Disease (Sinema Parasito)

This isn't a ploy to get more comments-- though, on that note, if any of you were actually reading this before, why was the comment section always so barren? I can only deduce that either a) you weren't actually reading it, or b) nothing I said was worth commenting on. I'm assuming it was the latter, because going over some of my more recent posts, I've certainly noticed a steep decline in discussion- worthy subject matter.

The thing is, I'd rather this blog die than sit idle. At this point, it's nothing more than an albatross, a lead weight that sits in the back of my mind-- "Boy, I really oughtta think of something to blog about, sigh,"-- and the last thing I need is another chore to distract me from my every-growing list of creative projects. I only ever show up to dump off movie stills (which no one looks at) or to ramble about my increasingly obscure cultural obsessions (which no one cares about). It's time to trim the fat, so to speak, and Sinema Parasito has grown gristly beyond belief.

I've also grown tired of my status as "token punk" on this site. I had hoped to bury that persona when I closed Codename: Murderama all those years ago. I painted myself into such a tight corner with that blog I didn't see any other way out but to scrap it and start something new. There was only so much forced negativity and snarly posturing I could affect before it began to take over my worldview, and after some serious examination (and the encouragement of some long-time readers), I killed Murderama, decided to focus on thigns that make me happy instead of things that piss me off, and opened Sinema Parasito for business. And guess what? All of my readers went away. No one around here wants me to play any role but that of the "token punk." From time to time, this blog has slipped back into that role, unfortunately, because it seems to be the only way I can pull any readers. Problem is, I'm not that person any more, I don't care to keep re-visiting my past lifestyles, and trying to interest readers in my CURRENT lifestyle has become an burden that I no longer wish to bear. So the blog become more and more tired, and now it is going to sleep. Done, done done. There may be another one with a different name somewhere down the line, but Sinema Parasito is officially DOA.

And honestly-- nothing I have to say fits on this page anymore, anyway. I'm out here rubbing elbows with Jesus freaks, computer nerds, armchair political hacks form ALL sides of the spectrum, and starry-eyed newbies who still buy into the myth that Larryville is somehow "diverse" and "free-thinking." I have no problem with any of this-- okay, that's a lie, I have HUGE problems with a fair amount of it-- but I just don't mix with this club anymore, and I refuse to hang around and be a wallflower. I'd rather just go away and remain a comfortable outsider.

I went through two blogs in the time it took you to go through one, so I think you may have me beat, after all!

Contrary to popular media opinion,, Curvacia's role in The Spook Lights has never been "The Singer's Mate." Try "Primary Songwriter, Lead Guitar Player, and Insanely Glamorous Rock-n-Roll Ass-Kicker" instead. Her name should always be at the front of the roster, case closed.

More Lawrence bands of note:

Weird Wounds
Coat Party
Fag Cop
Stull
The Armory
1950 DA
Unknown Stuntman
Samothrace

and on the KC side of things:

Red Kate
The Young Livers
Big Iron
Roman Numerals
The Architects
The Rich Boys
The Hopeless Destroyers
The Sssion
Dark Ages

And there's probably a thousand other bands that I'm forgetting to mention-- these ar ejust the ones off the top of my head!

No. In fact, Greg went on reocrd as saying that his ex-employees (all of 'em!) were ripping him off, which is what forced him to close in the first place. Had nothing at all to do with him squandering all the profits on his... AHEM... skiing habit, if you know what I mean.

This guy is a waste of oxygen. I can't believe he hasn't been locked up yet.

I'm pretty sure that Alan Moore has dabbled in the love that dare not speak its name. And he has definitely aged into more of a dandy than this younger picture I posted represents-- peep him at this link and see for yourself: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3147/2708...

(don't know how to hotlink on L.com, so you'll have to cut and paste)

And those Cradle of Filth posers only WISH they were manly enough to take it in the ass.

It's all open to interpretation, I suppose.

They should leave it as-is and forego a third movie. Killing off Dent was a stupid move (Two Face was shoehorned in and completely miswritten)-- had they let him live , I could see there being a third movie, as there was much room left to develop his post-accident character into the proper crime boss he became in the comics. With that storyline squandered, I say they should let the franchise die while it's ahead.
