It's funny that within the same blog post you bash stations like X 92.9 for their unoriginality AND knock the only station in Lawrence that continuously tries to be original and serve the community with new music.
KEXP is a corporately funded "super indie" station with a gazillionaire's pocket that probably plays the same Pixies songs that KJHK plays, just as an example. "Trance hour" is a bull excuse to neglect something as rare and meaningful (and chock full of "rock rotation" from noon to six in the morning) as a good, student-run college radio station.

i'm compassionate, but to a point.
"The corporate world is based on supply and demand and if douche bags would just have a little self control and realize that during a hail storm, a thunder storm or even on Christmas Eve that they really don't need a latte or the latest copy of Vanity Fair..."
they're right that people should have some self-control, but at the same time, they are also a part of that evil ol' "corporate world" and have to then submit to their policies. it's correct to recognize the ridiculousness of keeping a book store open in a tornado, but it's the "nature of the beast" as they say.
live by "corporate american" paychecks, die by their stupid rules. it's up to the writer here to head for the hills to a better job. it's great that it opened their eyes.
