Hands down the best restaurant in town. Creative dishes with creative ingredient presented in creative ways by a creative man. Great atmosphere and a great time. Make a reservation, come in and sit down, and have the best dining experience in Lawrence.
What about Teller's? Although not as uppity as Pachamama's, the service is far better (esp. quality and attentiveness), and I've never gotten sick from eating at Teller's. In order for it to be considered fine dining they need to learn the following
a) how to cook a steak (i.e. medium rare does not mean charred) b) if mussels are still closed after cooking, don't serve them to your customers c) servers should come by your table more often than once every half hour
Pachamama's gets a lot of business, but how much of it is return customers?

Royal Peking Restaurant
If you like aged Chinese decor (which I do) and old photos of Michael Landon, then Royal Peking is the place for you.
The food is fresh, crisp, and great tasting, and the service is wonderful.
