Wild West Film Fest

I think the Wild West Film Fest was a success!!!! Although I missed the showing of my own video "I dream of Kansas City," I still enjoyed many of the projects. I really didn't think that there would be as many wonderful shorts as there were. Most people are stupid and uninteresting when crapping out their creative visions in months, much less a couple of days. Let's just say that I was more than surprised. There was plenty of gossip about the fest during the week following the submissions. Rumors of completely unfinished works getting submitted was the most widely spread little tidbit of pre-fest negativity. I really don't want to sit around and watch crappy shorts especially unfinished crap....but I really didn't see anything that made me cringe.Enough rambling....I enjoyed the fest and I would love to be a part of it in the future. I hear there is going to be another one in the fall for "scary" movies. Hmmmmm...maybe Murderama will crawl out of his hole for that one. OK, so I didn't win anything and no one walked up to me at the end and said....anything. I was just relieved that no one laughed at me. My video was the only one that highlighted any part of KC's diverse culture. I wasn't going to make some white bread bull sh*t. Unless someone's getting shot at Union Station, I won't be there. DJ King David provided the "I dream of an unofficial soundtrack" to 10 lucky people with the best of today's and yesteryears's hip hop hits and a the Microphones track I used for the short. It's entitled "Universe" and it's on The Microphones Mount Eerie record. I would like to give a big shout out to Phil Elverum and all the Mid-West Ballers for their contributions known and unknown to this video. This video is the first with new Cotton Clouds team member Elyse Barr behind the camera. Elyse, Aaron Weatherford and I shot this video in 1 day and I edited it in 1 day. I have only taken out a glitch that made it onto the fest video but other than that what you are about to see is the same thing the Wild West Film Fest received. Congrats to the Weatherford Clan & Randy E. Lee for winning first place and to John Nowak AKA White Chocolate for receiving second place.

"Diversity", mmmmm, yummy! Celebrate Diversity!

The celebration seems to have wound down in the former Yugoslavia, but Iraqis are celebrating their Diversity with great enthusiasm. Just about this time last year, some of the local Diversity here in New York tried to take out my right eye with a boxcutter at the local subway station. He missed. I took twelve stitches in the eyebrow, and he got a broken arm for his effort.

This festival sounds great. Lawrence sounds great. I suspect it has all the Diversity I want. I can't wait to get there.
