3 things to do this week

After a pretty packed weekend, the week-night bets may seem a little slim pickins. As always, though, if there's something I've missed or something good coming up, get in touch at alexcgarrison@gmail.com or @alex_garrison.

Monday crafts: Adornment sale @ Van Go

Especially if you've never been, take some time out of your Monday this week to go by Van Go, 715 New Jersey St. It's a unique organization (full disclosure: I'm a former volunteer) that provides paying jobs to at-risk teens making art. In its few years here, it's become a big part of the art and nonprofit scenes, and helped a lot of kids.

Throughout the holidays, Van Go is selling handmade works by some of those teenagers in its annual Adornment Sale. Catch it from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays through Dec. 23.

Tuesday holidays: Eudora Christmas lights tour

If you really can't get enough Christmas light displays, the Eudora Rec Center, 1630 Elm St. — about a 22 minute drive from downtown Lawrence — has an hour-long hayride wagon tour that should quench the thirst of any holiday lover. It begins at 6:30 p.m., and Tuesday's will be the last tour of the season.

Wednesday dance: DJ Kimbarely Legal @ the Bottleneck

If you're looking for some mid-week jamz and/or to get your groove on, this could be a good opportunity to do just that. DJ Kim will be accompanied by a Mr Butt — fellow regular dance maker DJ Da Butt. It starts at 10 p.m. and has a $3 cover.
