Best Bets: It's beginning to look a lot like Final Fridays

A trip to Downtown Lawrence this weekend is the perfect cure for post-holiday depression. It's the week of Final Fridays again, for starters, with area art spaces and galleries open and holding exhibits galore this Friday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. Exhibits include works by printmaker and herbalist Kelly Kearns and painter Molly Murphy at Pachamama's and a special night of tea and teapots at the Phoenix Gallery in conjunction with Essential Goods, and Wonder Fair's Holiday Market will still be open if you need to make amends for that fruitcake you gave as a gift. But there is plenty more happening besides.

Cheer yourself up this Friday at the Bottleneck where Kansas City funk and dance group Mouth will be playing with the musical talents of Lawrence's own 3 Son Green. Expect to see Bayley Kate on vocals and more drums than you can shake a stick at. The show begins at 9 p.m.

If you were on Santa's naughty list this year, then Krampusfest 2013 at the Replay Lounge may be right up your alley. Come down Friday at 9 p.m. and listen to The Cast Pattern, Melting Point of Bronze and Mischief of Rats performing in a three-ring circus of local hardcore metal.
