I was going to blog about how stupid Twitter is, but it seems a little late in the game now. I'll just show you a picture I made instead. Because those, those are like a thousand words and in this market that's like $12 and I could use $12 to buy some cornbread and hot sauce. They're both cheap and I like hot sauce. A lot. What was I saying? Oh yeah....

And yes, a bigger, better, wetter blog coming soon....VERY soon. I just got tired. 'Cause it's almost 11:30 and apparently I'm becoming elderly. OH NOES BENJAMMIN BUTTONZ N REVERZE!

For now, look at this and cry.

Then go watch that Susan Boyle/Britain's Got Talent thing and feel better. I know I have....like a BAJILLION TIMES. I feel better about the world, but then I get sad because now the world will rape her talent with their insatiable insatiableness for new newness. Oh innernets, you is so good and yet so bad. You're like the boyfriend that comes with the statement, "but you don't see him when we're aloooonnnne." Ahh, memories.

And HEY GUYS, I love how we can get all crazy over lead in old copies of The Outsiders, but when it's in our blood and soil, then it's all SAY WHA?! And then there's the posible link between the high murder rate and lead. And frankly, I've already killed 12 people since I've been down here. That's like twice my normal rate.

Do you want to see some Indians!? (yes, you do.) More of them there pictures soon too.

Twitter: If the whole thing didn't remind me of that Michael Jackson song, then maybe.
Cry: Just remember - It's not armageddon until it affects you personally.
Susan Boyle: I seriously hope she has the good time she deserves.
Lead: Tin solder is a motherfucker.

i believe the susan boyle thing is fake. i know, my heart is made of ice. get used to it. there's no doubt she can sing, but i think she was planted there. they all overreacted before AND after she sang. forgive me for being so untrusting of shows like that.

Fally!!! You hard ass!!

But, yeah. It's not like she got in front of the judges and the audience without anyone having heard her sing. And the youtube packaging was pretty slick. And Simon Cowell is an asshole, but he's an asshole that knows how to make money.

But still. I stop what I'm doing every time she's on TV. Even though she could use a couple few more years of training before she challenges Elaine Paige, and even though she gets a bit pitchy time to time, I'm deciding to be a sucker for this story this time. She makes me smile.

I second the dots.
And I don't think she's a fake. Obviously it's fairly manufactured for television, but I tend to look at it as taking advantage of a good thing rather than concocting the good thing out of tiny bits of shit and string. I'm a half-optimist I guess.
I don't think there was any complete overreaction...or rather, not in the realm of reality TV anyway. Overreaction is the norm.

Also, it's friggin Jazz Fest time and I'm sorry I've been slacking. I'm hoping to put something of substance up tomorrow.

I'm with Fally. Fake-a-roo. It's a set-up.

Let me continue to brazenly display my ignorance: Am I the only person on the planet who isn't knocked over by her voice? She has a LOVELY voice ... no doubt. But I don't hear it as being anything REMOTELY professional or even consistent. How many untold thousands of women and men out there have voices just as good, or better, but are only heard in the church choir, the kitchen, or shower? What seemed thunderously obvious to me was that the audience, judges and about a billion people around the planet are overwhelmed by such a beautiful voice coming out of such a homely woman. Had she been your average nice-looking gal or guy, that voice -- though still lovely -- would otherwise be utterly unremarkable. Yeah, you heard me right: I'm calling Uglyism on this one. Or something like that -- whatever you might call a general disbelief/amazement that somebody so unattractive could be so talented. And not only is she talented, she wasn't uncomfortable with her looks and was willing to stand up there and belt out a good tune ... the uncomfortable laughter from the audience and smirks from the "judges" was their way of saying, "Lady, look at you! How can you not be ashamed??" And then out comes the voice and the collective GASP says, "Lady, look at you! How can you be so talented??"
I think I saw a note online somewhere that she's had a bunch of makeovers or something. Well, good for her, but that'll end the ol' career before it even gets started. If she wants to keep being famous long enough to ca$h in, she needs to get worse looking, not better ...

Lazz!!! You hard ass!!

Seriously, ya'll. How do you mean "setup?" Has she been a secret star all these years? Isn't that oxymoronic? (I would appreciate ya'll leaving things moronic to me).

I know there are millions of talented people we'll never hear about, just as there are thousands of "stars" who are all gravy and no mashed potatoes (apologies to BBT).

But here is the thing. No. Yes. Okay, I'll just say it. I DON"T THINK SHE"S ALL THAT DAMN UGLY. She looks like you. She looks like me. 47 is not that old. (And this would have been the paragraph without parenthesis).

Yeah, well. Me too. But I don't know if my standards are low and if so if that's a blessing or a curse, but you are not that damn ugly either.

Don't take it from me, though. I was raised catholic.

Glad I could resurrect my tradition of elevating the quality of conversation on these here blogs.
