¢ KU's dealings with the Recording Industry Association of America is getting more national attention. The [Chronicle of Higher Education][1] cited a University Daily Kansan story this week stating the university won't forward pre-litigation notices to students accused of illegal downloading."My understanding is that the university's best-practices viewpoint is to protect its students and show compliance to the rules," said Todd Cohen, a university spokesman, "but not to act as a legal agent."¢ KU's tuition increases are cited in a story in today's [USA Today][2] about rising rates across the country.Tuition at the University of Kansas will increase by nearly 16 percent this fall but will remain the same for incoming freshmen for the next four years. Increases at other state colleges and universities will range from 5.1 percent to 9.5 percent.
