![][1]A word of explanation to Cup O' Joel readers:This week, I'm hosting the blog carnival of the Kansas Guild of Bloggers. It's a rotating thing, though Emaw over at [Three O'Clock in the Morning][2] has been doing the heavy lifting of late.Way it works is this: Kansas bloggers -- and fans of Kansas bloggers -- submit their favorite entries from the past week. They all get gathered on one blog, giving everybody a central starting point to discover the vastness and diversity of the Kansas blogosphere.It's cool, in other words. Some of it is lifestyle-driven, some of it is politically driven - both left and right. This week: [It came off.][3]¢ J.D. over at "Evolution" tore himself away from video games long enough to warn [that the end of the world is nigh!][4]¢ Lyn at "Blogging Out Loud" offers her [thoughts about the Kansas governor's race.][5]¢ Josh at "Thoughts from Kansas" finds himself defending [women's right to vote,][6] an issue you thought had been settled 86 years ago.¢ Lulu moves away from her longtime home at [RunLuluRun.][7]¢ "JustCara" takes on Doug Patterson, [head of the Johnson County GOP.][8]¢ Matthew Kappenman answers the age-old question: [Why Do I Blog?][9]¢ Paul Decelles weighs in on ["Blogging and a Country Divided"][10]¢ "Happy in Bag" goes [straight for the juggler.][11]¢ And, of course,emaw wonders why Kansas takes so long to [get with the wine times.][12]Phew.This week's honored Kansas Blogger is John B at "Blog Meridian," where last week he celebrated the [10,000th visitor to his site.][13] John will host next week's carnival -- send your submissions to him.One final note: Not surprisingly, the Kansas blogosphere seems to be most active in the state's urban areas - the KC-Lawrence -Topeka corridor, and Wichita.Anybody know of a good Western Kansas blog?
