Good Government

Friday morning, I waited for the light at the crosswalk in front of City Hall. I half-noticed a woman across the street at 6th and Mass locking her bike to the rack. There were several pop cans scattered on the ground around the bike rack. The light changed, and as I crossed the street I watched the woman stomp on the cans to flatten them, and then pick them up and put them in the basket she was carrying. As I neared her, she looked up and said "Good morning!" It was our state senator Marci Francisco.

Isn't it sad when a politician riding a bike and picking up a few cans within arms reach counts as "good government?" :)

Here in JoCo, the local politicians like to run over harp seals in their Hummers for fun. And if they don't kill on the first pass, they jump out and finish them by pummeling them with Bibles bought from Barnes and Noble.

So yeah, I'd take cans any day.
